OLD STaONE
Bed & Breakfast….for a peaceful & relaxing break
OUR COVID 19 SECURE POLICY.
The world is a very different place since the Coronavirus pandemic and so we wanted to reassure you that you can have confidence when booking a stay with us. The health and wellbeing of our guests is paramount. We pride ourselves in our high level of cleanliness. We have no staff so we are the only two people who have contact with you, the bedrooms, the food we serve you and we do all the cleaning ourselves.
No guest glassware, crockery or cutlery is hand washed- it all goes through the dishwasher. All linen is professionally laundered at the recommended temperature.
Our suppliers are carefully vetted and chosen by us and have also achieved high standards of quality and cleanliness.
You will find details below of the actions we are taking to keep us all safe following completion of a risk assessment. The policy is based on current Government guidance for hospitality businesses. As things change we will update our policy.
We have changed some of the things we used to do to ensure the safety of everyone in the building. Please read through the list as it may affect your stay. We have tried to retain our high-quality product and little touches where possible and can reassure you that a great experience will still be had.
In accordance with Government advice, please do not travel to us if anyone in your party is showing any of the common symptoms of Coronavirus (ie fever, persistent cough, loss of taste or smell). We will happily re-arrange your stay for a future date at no penalty.
Arrival.
Upon arrival please park in the parking spaces in front of the rooms, we will be there to greet you. If you arrive at the same time as other guest’s we would ask you to remain in your car until they have moved to allow social distancing. We would remind you to limit contact with other people and keep 2m social distancing at service stations, restaurants and attractions, using hand sanitizer, wipes and face masks were appropriate.
Check In
We will ask you for an approximate check in time and where necessary, may ask you to move your check in time slightly to avoid another guest arrival. We would normally see you arrive and will have pre-opened your door for you personally.
Your check in form will be emailed to you prior to your stay and should be completed and emailed back to us.
Your room key will be placed in your room and sanitized.
We offer a complimentary drink and a home baked treat on arrival which can be served in your room or outside (which will be for the sole use of yourselves during your stay). The outside chairs and table will be sanitized.
Your Bedroom.
Both of our rooms have separate lockable entrance doors and we would ask you to use these during your stay with us. This will reduce the risk of coming into close contact with other guests.
A welcome letter on your bed will explain our room service policy and remind you of the most important aspects of our Covid 19 Secure Policy.
All remotes controls will be in a sealed plastic bag so that we can dispose of the bag and replace for the next guest.
The decorative cushions and runners will be removed from bedrooms to make cleaning and sanitizing easier. All white linen and towels in you room are commercially laundered at high temperatures in line with Government Guidelines.
We have removed our box of bathroom amenities, should you need anything like cotton buds or pads or face cloths please ask us.
Our tea tray offering will be simplified to minimize the number of items you may have touched. All consumable items will be available but on request (eg toilet rolls, tea bags, coffee, sugar, herbal teas).
Dirty crockery and cutlery should be left outside your bedroom door for us daily and will be replenished, along with a flask of fresh milk and a home baked treat.
We would ask you to wash your hands on entering and leaving your bedroom. Antibacterial handwash has been provided for your stay.
Cleaning.
We have always had extremely high cleanliness standards and used approved cleaning products.
We regret that we can’t clean your room daily if you are staying with us for four nights or less but for longer stays arrangements will be made for linen changes.
We ask you to empty your own bin, placing sealed bags of rubbish outside your door along with any dirty crockery before you go out for the day. You will find clean bin bags underneath the old one. We would only enter your room briefly during the day if needed whilst wearing a mask and gloves.
We use an approved sanitizer so the product is more than capable of killing enveloped viruses within a limited contact time of 30 seconds. We will be carrying out additional regular cleaning where necessary in particular on customer touch points like handles etc.
Appropriate PPE including face mask, plastic apron and nitrile gloves will be used to clean a room then disposed of before moving onto the next room. New cleaning cloths are also used for each room to prevent cross contamination and we obviously wash our hands extremely frequently.
Breakfast.
As we only have the one large dining table and to comply with the 2m social distancing rule we have decided that the Rozelle room will have sole use of the dining room and breakfast for Rozelle guest only will be served there.
The Balmain guests will have breakfast served in their room as it has more floor space to put a small table and chairs. We have installed a separate fridge in this room to store milk and bottled water.
You will be provided with breakfast menu sheets during your stay which we require you to complete daily and return to us by 8pm (Balmain guests should leave this on the window ledge directly outside of your room and Rozelle guests should leave theirs on the dining room table).
When delivering breakfast to the Balmain room we will knock and leave the tray on a stand outside of your room. Please leave the dirty tray outside your room for collection. If the weather allows of course breakfast can be served outside at separate tables.
Checkout.
Before check out, please leave your bedroom door open and hooked to the outside wall (weather permitting) with your room key in the door.
We regret that we do not have a credit card facility so where possible we would ask you to pay your invoice balance by bank transfer prior to your departure. Alternatively we can accept cash or cheque in a sealed envelope.
General.
Should you feel unwell during your stay with any of the common Coronavirus symptoms then you must notify us immediately. In line with Government guidance you will be asked to check out immediately in order to self-isolate at your home address. Should your symptoms become worse you should seek medical advice.
Where conversing with guests we shall always maintain a safe 2m distance.
Should we find Coronavirus on site, or one of us as owners are tested positive or need to self-isolate, we may need to cancel your booking at short notice. Where this happens, a full refund or alternate dates will be offered.
The above represents a sample of the new health and safety measures being implemented at Old Stone.
